Hotels in Charlottesville
VICS does not make hotel reservations on behalf of schools- this is the responsibility of the sponsor or head delegate. However, the VICS XVII Secretariat will reserve a large block of rooms at a few hotels in order to help ensure room availability. These block reservations are, however, only available until a month before the conference (02/21/12). Additionally, we are more than happy to assist in finding a hotel that meets your needs. Please keep in mind that while most are, not all hotels are within walking distance of the University, and that VICS does not provide transportation to and from the conference. The best way to plan transportation for hotels far from Grounds is to call the hotel directly and find out if they offer a shuttle service or other transportation. Similarly, both Charlottesville and the University provide free public transportation around the University area. Note that though there is parking on Grounds, it will be limited and expensive.
